FIHS Seniors
Here is a great scholarship opportunity! The Albert Shanker College Scholarship Fund of the United Federation of Teachers recognizes academically excellent and financially eligible students from New York City public schools. We have had many alumni get this scholarship. Perhaps this year it could be you!

FIHS Class of 2014!

Check out this scholarship opportunity for undocumented students who are going to CUNY schools.

If this does not apply to you, maybe you know a friend who would be interested and you can tell them about it.

If you have any questions, please contact Erin Dowding.

Urban Initiatives

Urban Initiatives is leading an important campaign to support our undocumented students. VC Frank Sanchez and Chancellor Milliken would like CUNY to become a leading partner to TheDream.US, which is a national scholarship fund for DREAMers that is administered by Scholarship Management Services.  This scholarship fund provides college scholarships to highly motivated DREAMers (with at least a 2.5 GPA) who have DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) or TPS (Temporary Protected Status) approval and who, without financial aid, cannot afford a college education that will enable them to participate in the American workforce.  The latest scholarship round opened on September 1, 2014, and will close on Sunday, October 12, 2014.  CUNY has set an aggressive goal of 600 eligible students submitting applications.

All CUNY colleges are partner institutions.  VC Frank Sanchez and SUD John Mogulescu are working closely with Candy Marshall, Executive Director of TheDream.US, to expand CUNY’s participating colleges and support our CUNY consortium of partner colleges as they build momentum towards the October 12th deadline.
